As a bass player Marcel is well experienced as well as session musician as well in several bands. He is also familiar with session-work (both live and studio). He has worked for several artists & acts with long-term projects as: Splinter, Wide Open, Vandersteen and FUSE. Bass players, which unmistakably influence his playing, originate from various styles of music. To name a few: Geddy Lee, Pino Palladino, Jonas Reingold, Lené to Voortwis and Danny Samar.
In 2007 he recorded the beautiful Splinter album called Dreamers, under the guidance of top producer and bass player Jonas Reingold in the Swedish Malmö. The album was well received in both the national and international press. It led to many shows in the Dutch and German clubcircuit. In 2008 he was part of the bluesrockband Wide Open. With Wide Open he attended the popular Bospop Festival in Weert with this band along side with acts as ZZ Top, Santana and Europe.
In 2009 he started the more commercially oriented project FUSE. With this band he climbed the stage as the support of BON JOVI, Kane and Di-rect, during the Royal Beach Concert on the beach of Scheveningen. This crowd of nearly 45.000 on a sunny day is one of Marcels many musical highlights. Following this mega-show, FUSE from here on played clubs-gigs. FUSE was common guest to popular Dutch radio stations such as 3FM. Fuse released their selftitled album at Spotify and Itunes.
Right now he is particularly active in ABBA Fever, thé ABBA Tribute band of Europe! In addition, he plays as stand in with several bands and he is regularly invited as a session bass player. www.marceleverts.net
